Clark Kuster begins his third season as an assistant coach and his fourth season overall on the St. Cloud State staff in 2025-26. Kuster, a 2020 St. Cloud State alum, spent his first season on staff as the Director of Hockey Operations and Video Coordinator. He returned to his alma mater after a one-year stint as an assistant coach for the St. Cloud Norseman of the North American Hockey League.
On the ice, Kuster has coached nine Huskies to All-NCHC honors, including defenseman Dylan Anhorn who earned 2023-24 All-NCHC First Team and AHCA Second Team West All-America honors. In 2022-23, he helped SCSU capture its second NCHC Frozen Faceoff championship and seventh conference title overall while advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the 17th time in program history. In his first season back with the Huskies, Kuster handled all team travel arrangements and in-game video efforts.
Kuster returned to St. Cloud State after a successful one-year stint as an assistant coach with the St. Cloud Norseman, where the team won the Central Division Final Series and advanced to the NAHL semifinals. The Norseman set a franchise record with 41 regular season wins and 47 victories overall and captured the regular season crown in Kuster's lone season on the bench.
Prior to joining the Norseman, Kuster spent the 2020-21 season with the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the Southern Professional Hockey League, recording one goal and 10 assists for 11 points in 39 games.
A five-year defenseman and assistant captain (2019-20) for the Huskies, Kuster recorded five points (one goal / four assists) in 40 career games played. Kuster logged 27 games played as a captain for the 2019-20 Huskies, recording one goal and three assists for four points. In the classroom, Kuster was a five-time NCHC Academic All-Conference and Distinguished Scholar-Athlete honoree and was named a 2019-20 CoSIDA Third Team Academic All-American.
Prior to joining the Huskies, the St. Louis, Mo., native played junior hockey for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the United States Hockey League (USHL) from 2012-15, racking up 62 points in 162 games.
