2013-14: Brodzinski was named to the 2014 All-NCHC Honorable Mention team...scored a team-leading 21 goals and 41 points in 2013-14...also charted 20 assists for the Huskies...+15 on the plus/minus...named NCHC Player of the Month for Jan. 2014...named NCHC Player of the Week on Jan. 27, 2014 for play against Minnesota and Minnesota State...had 13 multi-point games during 2013-14...added nine power play goals, two empty net goals and two game winners...etched first college hat trick with three at Colorado College on Mar. 7, 2014...scored two goals and one assist in win over Minnesota State on Jan. 25, 2014...also had two goals and one assist in win at Alabama Huntsville on Nov. 15, 2013...tallied 11 blocked shots...enjoyed eight-game point streak from Dec. 14, 2013 to Jan. 31, 2014...ranked third in NCHC with 21 goals and fourth with 41 points (overall games played) during 2013-14.
2012-13: Brodzinski led all NCAA Division I rookies (and the Huskies) with 22 goals in 2012-13...his 22 goals ties the team record for most goals in a season by a first-year player along with Mark Hartigan, who had 22 in 1999-00...he also had 11 assists and ranked seventh in the nation among DI rookies with 33 points in 2012-13...named to the 2013 All-CHN Rookie Team...selected as a WCHA Offensive Player of the Week on Jan. 29, 2013 and Feb. 27, 2013...scored first goal and assist as a Husky on Oct. 19, 2013 at home against UAH...posted seven multi-point games in 2012-13...was +28 on the plus/minus as a rookie...notched game winners against Nebraska Omaha on Dec. 8 and Bemidji State on Feb. 2...enjoyed a 13-game point streak from Dec. 8, 2012 to Feb. 2, 2013...recipient of SCSU's Roland Vancell Award (Outstanding First Year Player) in 2013...selected in 2013 NHL draft (5th round/148th pick) by the Los Angeles Kings.
Before SCSU: A 2011 graduate of Blaine High School, where he played for coach Dave Aus...earned All-Conference status throughout his prep career...also named team MVP and Offensive Award winner at Blaine...selected as Blaine's Rookie of the Year...helped lead Blaine to three top six finishes at the state MSHSL tournament including a third place finish, a fifth place finish and a sixth place finish...played junior hockey for the Fargo Force in the USHL...he finished 2010-11 season at Fargo with two goals and three assists in 12 games...he played full season of USHL hockey at Fargo in 2011-12 with 11 goals and 13 assists to his credit...also gained high school letters in golf at Blaine H.S...earned All-Conference honors in golf and also named Blaine's Rookie of the Year in golf.
Personal: Son of Kathy and Mike Brodzinski...his father (Mike) played at St. Cloud State from 1984-87 and posted 76 goals and 70 assists for the Huskies. Mike Brodzinski was a two-time All-American for the Huskies in 1986 and 1987 and helped SCSU claim a third place finish at the 1987 NCAA Division III championships under the leadership of coach Herb Brooks...brother Michael will play college hockey at Minnesota beginning in 2013-14...hobbies include golfing, hunting, fishing and anything active...health and physical education major at SCSU.
