2014-15: Â 2015 All-NCHC Rookie Team award winner...2015 All-NCHC Academic team award recipient...named NCHC Rookie of the Week on Jan. 26, 2015 after scoring two goals and two assists in weekend series vs. Western Michigan...also named NCHC Rookie of the Week on Feb. 2 after 2g/1a at Colorado College...named NCHC Rookie of the Week on Nov. 17 after 1g/2a in series at WMU...scored 10g/15a, which included seven power play goals...scored first collegiate point with an assist at the HBNHC vs. Colgate on Oct. 10, 2014...first collegiate goal came against UMD at the HBNHC on Nov. 7, 2014...five multi-point games in 2014-15...had 1g/2a vs. WMU on Jan. 23, 2015.
Before SCSU:Â Russell played for the Waterloo Black Hawks during the 2013-14 season...tallied 34 goals and 23 assists during his season in Waterloo...helped Waterloo win USHL's Anderson Cup in 2013-14...played from 2009 to 2013 with Linkoping in Sweden...scored 18 goals and 21 assists for the Linkoping J20 squad in 2012-13...member of Team Denmark at U18 and U20 World Junior Championships tournaments...played with Gentofte (Denmark) from 2007 to 2009...a 2011 graduate of Anders Ljungstedts Gymnasium.
