At SCSU: Will serve as a team captain in 2019-20...a versatile freestyle performer...charted team's third best time in the 200 free in 2018-19 at 1:44.72...also had team's third best time in the 500 free at 4:49.00...ranked fourth on the team in 2018-19 with a time of 10:10.66 in the 1000 free and third with a time of 17:02.95 in the 1650 free...charted top times of 1:43.76 in the 200 free and 10:05.15 in the 1000 free at NSISC championship in 2018...also had top time of 4:49.00 in the 500 free at the Rochester Invite and 17:18.11 in the 1650 free a the Rochester Invite in 2017-18...received team's Most Improved Award in 2017...had a time of 1:44.96 in the 200 free, 4:53.10 in the 500 free and 10:16.63 in the 1000 free in 2017.

Before SCSU: A 2016 graduate of Davies High School ... First-team All-State swimmer ... Placed third in 100m Free, 4th in 200 free, 4th in 400 free relay and 2nd in 200 free relay... Team Captain ... Also three-time letter winner in Cross Country and Track...participated with Marlins Swim Club.

Personal: Son of Charley and Gail Poynter ... Intends to major in Meteorology at St. Cloud State...does weather on air for UTVS...member of the SCSU Weather Club, Severe Weather Club and SAAC...earned Boy Scouts Eagle Scout status.
