Minneapolis, MN Dave Solon was a four-year football letter winner for the Huskies from 1984 to 1987. An offensive lineman, he lettered as a true freshman in 1984. In 1986, he was named to the North Central Conference All-Conference team second team, was voted the team's Most Valuable Player and earned NSCA All-American honors. In 1987, he was named first team All-North Central Conference, was voted team captain, earned the Keith Nord Award and Team All-American honors. IN 1987, the Huskies posted a 7-4 record and finished second in the NCC. That year, he opened holes for SCSU's all-time rushing leader Harry Jackson. Following his football career at SCSU, the Columbia Heights, Minn., native, signed a free agent contract with the New Orleans Saints in 1988. Dave is an account executive for Fidelity Investments in Minneapolis.
