Minnesota Duluth Edges #12 SCSU, 2-1

Duluth, Minn. - #12 St. Cloud State University (6-5-0, 4-3-0 WCHA) men's hockey lost a close 2-1 decision at Minnesota Duluth on Friday, Nov. 23 at the AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minn.
The Huskies will look to get back into the win column on Saturday, Nov. 24, when they meet up with Minnesota Duluth again at the AMSOIL Arena for game two of the series. The action in Duluth is scheduled to begin at 7:07 p.m. Fans can listen to the game live on KNSI AM 1450/FM 103.3 or on KVSC 88.1 FM.
SCSU gained an 1-0 lead in the first period with a goal by freshman forward Kalle Kossila at 5:26 of the first period. Sophomore defender Andrew Prochno and freshman forward Jonny Brodzinski added assists on the play for the Huskies. Of note, the goal was Kossila's fifth of the 2012-13 season.
UMD finally entered the scoring column at 16:20 of the second period with a goal by Tony Cameranesi. Mike Seidel and Austin Farley had assists on the play for the Bulldogs. UMD then charted the game winner at 3:55 of the final period with a power play goal by Wade Bergamn. Cameranesi and Andy Welinski provided the assists on the play for UMD.
In the contest, UMD outshot the Huskies 29-28. SCSU was 0-of-3 on the power play and UMD was 1-of-4 on the advantage in the game. SCSU sophomore Ryan Faragher was the goalie of record for the Huskies with 27 saves to his credit, while Aaron Crandall had 27 saves for UMD in the game.
