2012 SCSU TEDDY BEAR TOSS: St. Cloud State's second annual Teddy Bear Toss will take place on Saturday, Dec. 15 during the first intermission of the Huskies' game against Colorado College at the National Hockey and Event Center. Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used Teddy Bear or stuffed animal to the game to toss onto the ice during the intermission. All toys collected will be donated to this year's Toys for Tots campaign here in St. Cloud. The event is sponsored by Riddle's Jewelry, The Husky Bookstore in Centennial Hall, Gold Cross Ambulance and Toys for Tots. Call 320-308-4924 for details.

All youth hockey players (8th grade and younger) who wear their team jersey to the games on those nights will be admitted FREE with a paid adult.
HUSKY NOTES AND NEWS
LAST WEEK: The Huskies split a two-game set at Alaska Anchorage last weekend. On Nov. 30, the Huskies played in their first OT match of the season and came away with a 4-3 win, as Jimmy Murray posted two goals including the game winner at 2:09 of the extra session. SCSU was down at one point 3-0 in the 2nd period before staging the comeback win. Drew LeBlanc and Cory Thorson also enjoyed multi-point nights with two assists apiece in the game. To complete the weekend, UAA charged back with a 3-1 win as SCSU's lone goal was posted by Jonny Brodzinski. Of note, Brodzinski had two goals on the weekend at UAA.
SECOND PLACE: The Huskies currently own a share of second place in the WCHA at 12 points along with Minnesota…UNO sits in fourth place this week with 11 points (9-4-1, 5-2-1 WCHA).
NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK: All of SCSU's goals in Alaska were posted by freshmen over the weekend … Rookie forward Jimmy Murray had two goals including the game-winner in OT on Nov. 30, while Jonny Brodzinski had one goal in each game at UAA. The Huskies' other goal on Nov. 30 was charted by redshirt freshman David Morley, which was his first goal as a Husky.
OVERTIME PAY: The OT win on Nov. 30 marked the first time that the Huskies have played in overtime since a 3-3 tie on March 3, 2012 against Minnesota Duluth … SCSU trailed 3-0 in the game on Nov. 30 and staged a second half rally to win the game … This marked the first time since being down 3-0 against Cornell on Dec. 29, 2010 that the Huskies managed to comeback from a three-goal deficit. SCSU went on to win that game at the Florida tournament by a 4-3 margin in OT
POINT MAN: Senior Drew LeBlanc moved into the team's scoring lead at UAA with his three assists up north. He now has a team leading 18 points and 13 assists. In his carer, LeBlanc now has 115 points (34g, 81a). He ranks 8th in the team records for career assists with 81 and 15th for career points with 115. SCSU's all-time career assist lead is Garrett Roe with 113 from 2007-11 and the all-time point leader is Ryan Lasch with 183 from 2006-10.
HUSKY TIDBITS: SCSU ranks fourth in the WCHA (overall games played) with 3.36 goals per game and the Huskies rank third on defense with an average of 2.43 goals allowed per game this season … Nic Dowd leads the Huskies and the WCHA this year with four GWG … junior blueliner Nick Jensen has 10 assists for the Huskies this year … rookie Kalle Kossila ranks fourth among freshmen in the WCHA with 11 points in 2011-12...Ben Hanowski had seven shots on goal in the Huskies' 3-1 loss at UAA, which ranks second in his career for most shots on goal in a game. His top effort was eight SOGs on Jan. 21, 2012 vs. UND...Hanowski has 4 goals during his career vs. UNO...when Nic Dowd scores a goal this season, the Huskies are 5-0-0...SCSU is also 5-0-0 when it scores the first goal in a game this season.
