Huskies Cruise to 97-60 Win Over Concordia-St. Paul

St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University men's basketball team led from start to finish in a 97-60 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) win over Concordia University, St. Paul Saturday night.
The Huskies improved to 13-3 overall and 9-3 in the NSIC. St. Cloud State hits the road for the next four games before returning home February 8-9 for a league series against Winona State and Upper Iowa. Concordia-St. Paul dropped to 3-13 overall and 1-11 in the NSIC.
Four Huskies finished in double figures in the points column, led by senior forward Theo Rothstein (St. Michael) with 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists. First year guard Jordan Poydras (DePere, Wis.) had 13 points and was two for two from three-point range.
Junior guard Damarius Cruz (Robbinsdale) and sophomore forward Connor Niehaus (Fremont, Neb.) each had 12 points. Sophomore guard Kevin Levandoski (Appleton, Wis.) handed out five assists and had five steals.
The Huskies shot 56.5 percent from the field and made eight of 17 three-point attempts. St. Cloud State had a 32-27 rebounding edge.
Concordia-St. Paul was led by Terez VanPelt who scored a game high 20 points. Cole Olstad also scored in double figures with 12 points. The Golden Bears shot 43.5 percent from the field but were two of 13 from three-point range.
The Huskies led 46-23 at half-time.
