10/22/2013 8:47:00 PM | Volleyball
St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University volleyball team took on #4 ranked Minnesota Duluth this evening in Halenbeck Hall. The two teams met earlier this season, and St. Cloud State entered tonight's contest looking for a hopeful rematch. The Bulldogs appeared to be too much to handle as they swept the Huskies in three straight sets with scores of 25-20, 25-13 and 25-13.Â
The Bulldogs offense was unstoppable as they hit .376 as a team and .882 in the last set. The Huskies were unable to record any blocks in defense of UMD's force.Â
Kaitlin Doughty (Tomahawk, Wis.) led all players for the Huskies with 6 kills.
Erin Ohlemann (Golden Valley) dished out 14 assists and a team-high 9 digs.
Rachel Burke (Madison, Wis.) entered the match to record two kills in three attempts for a .667 attack percentage.Â
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) leader in total kills, Kate Lange, led Duluth with 15 kills and a .483 attack percentage.Â
St. Cloud State falls to 12-8 overall, 6-6 in the NSIC.Â
Minnesota Duluth improves to 20-2 overall and 10-2 in conference action.Â
The Huskies will take the court again this weekend as they hit the road for Sioux Falls, S.D. and Wayne, Neb. to take on Augustana College and Wayne State College.Â
