SCSU Volleyball Competes with #17 Wayne State, Falls 1-3

Wayne, Neb. -- The St. Cloud State University volleyball team took on #17 Wayne State College in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) volleyball action this evening in Wayne, Neb. The Huskies started out strong, defeating the Wildcats 25-21 in first set action. St. Cloud State kept the pressure on in the second set before ultimately falling 23-25 in set two, followed by 20-25 and 14-25 in consecutive sets.
St. Cloud State falls to 12-10 overall and 6-8 in NSIC action. #17 Wayne State improves to 17-7 overall and 8-6 in conference play.Â
Ellie Dietzen (Black Creek, Wis.) led all players with 14 kills and a .500 attack percentage. Dietzen also collected six digs and four blocks.
Kaitlin Doughty (Tomahawk, Wis.) finished with 13 kills for the Huskies and a .357 attack percentage.Â
Dani Domeier (Norwood Young America) collected 10 digs and 10 kills for her seventh double-double of the season.Â
Erin Ohlemann (Golden Valley) dished out 43 assists and had 13 digs for another Husky double-double. Brianne Stamer (Hutchinson) had a team-high 23 digs.
Alyssa Frauendorfer collected 20 kills and hit .515% to lead the Wildcats in offensive efforts.Â
St. Cloud State will return to action on Nov. 1 and 2 as they return to their home court at Halenbeck Hall to host Southwest Minnesota State and the University of Sioux Falls. The first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday against the Southwest.
