
SCSU Volleyball Travels to No. 1 Minnesota Duluth

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University volleyball team will hit the road for Duluth, Minn. as they take on the no. 1 ranked UMD Bulldogs Tuesday, Sept. 24. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in Duluth's Romano Gymnasium.Â

Minnesota Duluth Notes
Following action at Minnesota Duluth, the Huskies will hit the road again as they travel to Mankato and St. Paul, Minn. to take on Minnesota State University and Concordia-St. Paul in NSIC action Friday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28.Â
St. Cloud State Notes
- SCSU enters the match-up with an 8-2 overall record, 2-0 in the NSIC (The Huskies best start since the 1998 season).Â
- They hold a four-game winning streak after coming off conference wins over Bemidji State (Sept. 19) and Minnesota Crookston (Sept. 21).
- Ellie Dietzen led the Huskies to victory in the conference debuts vs. Bemidji State and Crookston. Dietzen hit a combined .362% in the two matches and holds a .396 attack percentage this season. She has collected a team-high 116 kills, averaging 2.97 per set. The Huskies win over Crookston marked Dietzen's fourth straight match tallying double-digit kill totals and her seventh this season.Â
- The Huskies have received tremendous defensive and offensive efforts from outside hitter Dani Domeier. Domeier recorded her third straight double-double against Minnesota, Crookston. She led the Huskies in kills against Bemidji State with 13 while maintaining a .370 attack percentage. She also recorded 14 digs against the Beavers. In Crookston, Domeier posted 10 kills and tallied 17 digs. Domeier comes in second on the team in total kills, total service aces, and total digs.Â
Minnesota Duluth Notes
- No. 1 ranked UMD enters the match-up with an 11-0 overall record, 2-0 in the NSIC.Â
- The Bulldogs are coming off two, three set victories over conference foes Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston.Â
- UMD is led offensively by Kate Lange. Lange has posted 208 kills this season, averaging 5.47 kills per set. She was awarded All-American nods for both the 2011 and 2012 seasons.Â
- Ashley Hinsch has tallied 467 assists this season, averaging 12.29 per set.Â
