Swimming and Diving Battles to Defeat South Dakota State University

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University men and women's swimming and diving teams hosted division I South Dakota State University in a team dual this afternoon in Halenbeck Hall Pool. After a battle to the finish, both the St. Cloud State men and women came out on top. The women defeated SDSU 151 to 149. The Husky men defeated the Jackrabbits 157-143.
The St. Cloud State women posted eight first place finishes and the men came away with 10.

Diving Highlights
In diving action, Tori Raihle (Spring Lake Park) finished in second place on the one-meter board with a score of 230.60. Raihle took the title on the three-meter with a score of 258. Mary Woodson (Hartland, Wis.) came in third on the one-meter scoring 218.50.
Tyler Magalis (Farmington) finished in third place on the one-meter board with a score of 277.50. Magalis also placed third on the three-meter scoring 287.40.
Aaron Rooney (Alexandria) finished in fourth on both boards, with a 259.10 score on the one-meter and 280.55 on the three.
Swimming Highlights
Both the men and women's 400 yard medley relay came in first place to start off the dual. The women's team made up of Erin Hart, Abby Rasmussen, Meghan Carmichael and Kelsey Leeson won with a time of 3:59.67.
The men's team made up of Bob Simson, Napoleon Howell, Joe Burns and Jake Stoll came in first with a time of 3:31.58.
Erin Hart grabbed her second victory of the day when she won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:00.48.
Abby Rasmussen won the 100-yard breaststroke to secure her second win of the day. Rasmussen finished in 1:06.87.
Meghan Carmichael won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:10.67 after being part of the winning 400-medley relay. Carmichael also won the 100-yard fly in 59.45.
Jasmine Lee took first place finishes in both the 200-yard backstroke (2:11.23) and the 200-yard IM (2:10.85).
Napoleon Howell won the 100-yard breaststroke in 58.07 and also the 200 breast in 2:11.06 after being part of the winning 400 medley relay.
Alex Bryson won the 1000 free in 9:40.12. Bryson also finished in first place in the 500 yard free with a final time of 4:44.01.
In the final event of the evening, the St. Cloud State men's 400-yard freestyle relay team made up of Jake Stoll, Joe Burns, Chris Tung and Alex Bryson finished in first place with a time of 3:07.75.
