Huskies Defeat Bemidji State 91-80 in Final NSIC Regular Season Contest

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University women's basketball team took on Bemidji State in their final Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) match-up of the season. The Huskies, who fell to the Beavers earlier this season (82-99 on Dec. 6), came out strong and took the lead for good early in the first half. St. Cloud State defeated Bemidji State 91-80 in final scoring.

With tonight's win and the University of Mary's win over Minnesota State Moorhead, the Huskies move into fourth place in the NSIC North and will host their first round game of the NSIC Sanford Health Basketball Tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 26. The Huskies will take on #5 seed University of Sioux Falls.
St. Cloud State improves to 16-10 overall and 12-10 in the NSIC. Bemidji State falls to 9-17 overall and 5-17 in conference action.
Seniors Jessica Benson (Grand Meadow) and Sam Price (Eau Claire, Wis.) led St. Cloud State with 20 points each. Benson grabbed 15 rebounds to secure her thirteenth double-double of the season. Price knocked down four shots from beyond the arc and six of six shots at the line. She finished with a team-high six assists.
Three additional Huskies finished in double-digit scoring. Lexy Petermann (Fond du Lac, Wis.) went eight of 11 from the field to score 19 points. Rachael Moen (Savage) and Carley Jeffery (Cambridge, Wis.) each hit three shots from three-point range to finish with 11.
Morgan Lee led Bemidji State with 24 points.
The Huskies won the rebounding battle, 37-35. They committed just nine turnovers, forcing the Beavers into 14.
