Women's golf places fifth at NSIC Championships, best league finish to date

Morton, Minn. – The St. Cloud State women's golf team placed fifth, the Huskies best finish ever in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Championship, shooting a final round 357 at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club in Morton on Sunday.
The Huskies posted rounds of 353-354-352-357 for a 1416 tournament total. Augustana College won the league title with a team score of 1304.

St. Cloud State's Katie Kruchten shot a final round 89 on the par 72, 5,906 yard course to finish in 12th place on the individual leaderboard. Kruchten tallied 85-82-90-89 for a 346 over the four round tournament.
Laurel Enstrom dropped seven strokes from her third round score, and shot an 83 Sunday to finish in a tie for 13th place. She finished with scores of 83-93-90-83 for a 349.
Brooke Taylor placed 18th overall with scores of 83-84-89-96 for a 352. Shelby Sauer and Ashlee Lindeen rounded out the Huskies line-up. Sauer shot a final round 94 and Lindeen came in at 91.
Katie Kruchten and Laurel Enstrom are among the top 20 on the leaderboard. Kruchten shot a 90 to go with an 85-82, has a tournament total 257 and is tied for 14th place. Enstrom has posted rounds of 83-93-90 for a 266 and is tied for 20th place.
Rounding out the Huskies roster, Shelby Sauer shot the Huskies low round of the day with an 83. Ashlee Lindeen posted a 101 third round score.
The fifth place is the best Huskies overall finish since placing sixth in the 2009-10 championships. Last season the Huskies finished eighth in the league championships.
