St. Cloud, Minn.—Ninth-ranked Augustana College shot 62.3 percent from the field and all five starters scored in double figures as the Vikings defeated St. Cloud State, 101-92 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) men's basketball action Friday night at Halenbeck Hall.

The Huskies are 9-8 overall and 5-6 in the NSIC. St. Cloud State will host Wayne State College, coming off a 94-80 overtime loss at Minnesota Duluth, Saturday at 6 p.m. Augustana College improved to 16-1 overall and 10-1 in the NSIC.

Augustana junior forward Alex Richter led all players with 29 points and teammate Daniel Jansen posted a double double of 18 points and ten rebounds to lead the Vikings.

St. Cloud State had five players score in double figures led by sophomore guard Scottie Stone (Melrose, Minn.) with 24 points and seven rebounds, both career highs. Junior guard Jordan Poydras (Los Angeles, Calif.) posted a double double with 20 points and ten assists. His assist total was a season high and equaled his career high.

The Huskies held a lead through much of the first half, leading by eight points, 28-20 at the 11:32 mark. A layup by Jansen tied the game at 34-34 and the Vikings went on to take a 47-45 lead into halftime.

Augustana's largest lead of the game, 88-70 came at the 5:16 mark of the second half. The Huskies drew to within eight points twice in the final 1:10.

Stone's previous career high in points was 21 and his high in rebounds was five.
Senior center James Fort (South Haven, Minn.) scored a career high 21 points on nine of 13 field goals.
Junior guard Eddie Alcantara (New York, N.Y) and junior forward Donnell Cegers (Milwaukee, Wis.) each had 11 points.
St. Cloud State shot 46.8 percent from the field and sent eight for ten at the free throw line.
The Huskies equaled a season high with 12 three-point field goals. SCSU held a 32-31 rebounding edge.

Junior forward Casey Schilling scored his 1,000^th career point in the game, finishing with 21 points on eight of nine shooting from the field.
Guards Adam Beyer and Jordan Spencer scored 15 and ten points, respectively to round the scoring leaders for the Vikings.
