Men's basketball earns weekend sweep with 76-61 win over Sioux Falls.

Sioux Falls, S.D. – St. Cloud State men's basketball completed a weekend road sweep with a 76-61 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) win at the University of Sioux Falls Saturday evening.
The Huskies improved to 13-9 overall and 9-7 in the NSIC. Sioux Falls dropped to 7-15 overall and 4-12 in the league standings.
Junior guard Jordan Poydras (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the Huskies in scoring with a 21 point performance and made four three-point baskets.
After leading 38-22 at the half, the Huskies had to hold off the Cougars in the second half. Sioux Falls went on a 25-9 run and tied the game 47-47 at 11:07 on a Kebu Johnson layup. The Cougars drew to within two points three times after that and after another Johnson layup the Cougars trailed 59-57 at the 5:40 mark.
The Huskies scored the next ten points and later stretched the lead to 16 points, 75-59 with a little over a minute to play.
St. Cloud State concludes this four-game road swing with a 3-1 record and return home next weekend for a pair of games against Winona State on Friday and Upper Iowa on Saturday.

- Sophomore guard Scottie Stone (Melrose, Minn.) scored 16 points.
- The Huskies shot 43.6 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from three-point range. St. Cloud State made 18 of 21 free throw attempts.
- The Cougars were led by Charles Ward who tallied a game high 23 points and game high eight rebounds.

- The Cougars had a 27-26 rebounding edge over the Huskies.
- Sioux Falls shot 51 percent from the field in the game but committed 20 turnovers.
