Men's basketball holds on for 70-63 win over Minnesota Crookston

St.Cloud State is 8-7 overall and 4-5 in the NSIC. The Huskies will host Bemidji State on Saturday at 6 p.m. The Beavers lost at Minnesota Duluth, 84-80 in overtime Friday. Minnesota Crookston went to 6-7 overall and 4-5 in the NSIC.
The Huskies never trailed in the game, taking a 31-19 lead into halftime and stretching the lead to 16 points, 42-26, five minutes into the second half. A 14-3 run by the Golden Eagles late in the final four minutes of the second half erased the Huskies 15-point lead and drew UMC to within four points, 65-61 with :59 seconds left in the game.
Senior guard Kevin Levandoski (Appleton, Wis.) and Poydras combined to make five free throws in the final :50 seconds to seal the win.
Poydras finished the night 10 of 21 from the field and had five rebounds and three assists.
Huskies Tip-ins
>Junior guard Eddie Alcantara (New York) led the Huskies on the boards with nine rebounds. He also scored 14 points and had five steals.
>Senior center James Fort (South Haven, Minn.) was five of five from the field and finished the night with three rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots. Fort is shooting 74.7 percent from the field this season.
>Sophomore guard Scottie Stone (Melrose, Minn.) made his third start of the season and scored ten points and five rebounds.
>The Huskies shot 47.1 percent from the field and out-rebounded the Golden Eagles, 39-28.
>The win ended a two-game Huskies losing streak.

>Kevin Larsen led the Golden Eagles with 15 points that included seven points in UMC's 14-3 run late in the game.
>Derrick Redd dropped in 14 points and handed out a team high three assists
>John Hughes knocked down 11 points and six rebounds.
>Tyler West led all players with 12 rebounds and had seven points.
