#1 Ranked Gophers Defeat the Huskies on Friday Night

Minneapolis, Minn. --- The St. Cloud State Huskies (2-1-0, 0-1-0 WCHA) lost a 7-0 match against the #1 University of Minnesota Gophers (3-0-0, 1-0-0 WCHA) on Friday Oct. 9.
Minnesota scored half-way through the first and held the lead going into first intermission with a 1-0 lead.
As the second period unfolded, SCSU freshman Suvi Ollikainen, was sent to the box for interference. The Gophers capitalized on the power-play and extended the lead 2-0. With just under a minute left in the second, Minnesota found the back of the net to pull ahead 3-0.
Minnesota took advantage of the Huskies being in the box twice more in the third. A 4-on-4 goal was scored, as well as an even strength goal ending the game 7-0.
St. Cloud's Katie Fitzgerald faced 38 shots from the #1 ranked Minnesota Gophers.
