The #2 Wisconsin Badgers (5-0-0, 3-0-0 WCHA) took game one of the series against the St. Cloud State Huskies (2-3-0, 0-3-0 WCHA).
Both teams were awarded powerplays in the first period, but neither were able to score leaving it 0-0 after the first 20 minutes.
Wisconsin came out of the second with a 3-0 lead on the Huskies after scoring an even strength goal at 6:02 and 2 short handed goals shortly after.
The Badgers scored 2 more goals in the closing period to take the game 5-0.
St. Cloud goaltender, Katie Fitzgerald, faced 45 shots in the game, while Badger goalie faced 10.
Game two will be played on Saturday Oct. 17 at 3:07 p.m.Â
