
SCSU Volleyball Loses Battle to No. 20 Augustana, 3-1

St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University volleyball team battled against Augustana in a four-set match this afternoon. The Vikings are currently ranked No. 20 on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll. The Huskies came up short with scores of 25-23, 22-25, 21-25, and 23-25.
St. Cloud State drops to 8-11 overall and 4-7 in the conference. Augustana improves to 14-5 overall and 7-4 in the NSIC.
Three Huskies finished the match having double-digit kill totals. Rachel Burke (Madison, Wis.) led the Huskies with 16 kills. Burke also recorded 12 digs. Sophie Jaskulske (Maplewood, Minn.) had 14 kills, averaging a .226 attack percentage. Shannon Klink (Hartford, Wis.) finished with a team-high attack percentage with .346, collecting 12 kills.
Allison Butler (Burnsville, Minn.) tallied a season-high 54 assists. Butler also finished with three service aces.
Defensively, Brianne Stamer (Hutchinson, Minn.) recorded 16 digs. Taryn Ungerer (Milwaukee, Wis.) finished the night with 15 digs.
Lauren Waite led all players with 21 kills for the Vikings.
St. Cloud State will return to action Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. The Huskies will take on No. 5 Minnesota Duluth. The Bulldogs are currently 15-5 overall and 8-3 in the NSIC. UMD is coming off a loss against No. 9 Wayne State in three straight sets.
