The 9 St. Cloud State University men's hockey team (6-2-0, 2-0-0 NCHC) will travel to Kalamazoo, Mich. for a pair of NCHC games at Western Michigan University (4-4-1, 2-2-0 NCHC) on Friday, Nov. 13 and Saturday, Nov. 14. Both games will begin at 6 p.m. (CT) and will be played at the Lawson Arena (3,667 cap./200x85) on the campus of WMU in Kalamazoo, Mich.

NORTH STAR CUP ALL-SESSION TICKETS: Get your North Star College Cup all session passes now! SCSU will play Minnesota State Mankato in the first round on Jan. 30 at 1 p.m., while Minnesota will play Bemidji State at 4 p.m. on Jan. 30 at the Xcel Energy Center in downtown St. Paul. POLL POSITION: SCSU was ranked #9 in the USCHO.com and 9th in the USA Today/USA Hockey DI national polls this week. Western Michigan received votes in both of the national polls this week.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH: SCSU junior goalie Charlie Lindgren was named the NCHC Player of the Month for October 2015. He already has four shutouts to his credit this winter and owns a 1.43 GAA and a .947 save rate in 2015-16. Lindgren has 177 saves and has only allowed 10 goals in just under 420 minutes of play this season.
TOUGH ON THE PK: The Huskies have outscored their opponents 25-12 this season and they have only given up two power play goals. On the penalty kill, SCSU is 20-of-22 in 2015-16. At 90.9%, the Huskies' penalty kill ranks sixth in the nation this winter (20-of-22).
TOP 3 HUSKIES: The Huskies' defense ranks third in the nation allowing an average of 1.50 goals per game this season.
SUPER SENIOR: Senior forward Kalle Kossila paces the Huskies this season with eight points and six assists. In his four year career with the Huskies, Kossila has 107 points, 36 goals and 71 assists. He is now tied for 22nd in the SCSU career scoring charts (DI level) along with Kelly Hultgren, who had 107 points from 1991-95.
TEAM LEADER: SCSU sophomore Judd Peterson, a draft pick of the Buffalo Sabres, paces the Huskies this season with five goals. He added two goals in SCSU's 5-2 loss at nationally ranked Quinnipiac on Oct. 23. He also leads the nation with two shorthanded goals this season...Peterson hit a career game-high with eight shots on goal during the Huskies' game on Oct. 23.
PERFECT AT HOME: SCSU is 4-0-0 in games played at home this season and 2-2-0 in games played on the road this year.
FIRSTS AT SCSU: In the recent two game sweep vs. Miami, Mikey Eyssimont posted his first career goal on Oct. 31. Fellow rookie Patrick Newell scored his first career goals with a pair against the Redhawks on Oct. 30. Freshman defender Will Borgen scored his first collegiate point with an assist vs. MU on Oct. 30. He completed the weekend with two more helpers vs. Miami on Oct. 31...not his first at SCSU, but sophomore Ryan Papa scored his first goal for the Huskies since the 2013-14 season with his marker vs. Miami on Oct. 30. Papa was a redshirt athlete at SCSU in 2014-15.
LAST TIME FOR THE HUSKIES: The last time the Huskies allowed a power play goal was on Oct. 24 in the loss at Quinnipiac. SCSU's other power play goal allowed was allowed on Oct. 23 at QU...on the other hand, SCSU has not scored a power play goal since Oct. 10 at Alaska Anchorage.
STREAK LEADERS: Kalle Kossila and Will Borgen are the Huskies' active point streak leaders with two game point scoring streaks heading into the series at WMU. Kossila has only been held off of the scoresheet twice this season. FYI, Patrick Russell paces the Huskies this season with three multi-point games in 2015-16.
ABOUT WMU: The Huskies are 3-3-2 in the all-time series against Western Michigan, which dates back to a 4-2 win for the Huskies on Dec. 29, 2011 in the series opener. Last year, SCSU posted a 4-3 win and 1-1 tie at Western Michigan on Nov. 14-15, 2014. This marked the first time that the Huskies had played games at WMU. At the HBNHC in 2014-15, the Huskies tallied a 7-0 win and a 3-2 loss on Jan. 23-24, 2015.
DRAFT PICK: Newcomer Will Borgen was selected by Buffalo in this year's NHL draft. He will join Judd Peterson (Buffalo) and Ben Storm (Colorado) as NHL drafted players on this year's roster. Of note, former Huskies Matt Cullen (Pittsburgh) and Matt Hendricks (Edmonton) are both listed on NHL rosters to start the 2015-16 season.
RANDOM NOTES: SCSU enjoyed its first bye weekend of the season on Nov. 6-7...the last games for the Huskies were a 3-0 and 3-1 win over Miami University at the HBNHC on Oct. 30-31... Charlie Lindgren ranks sixth in the country with a 1.43 GAA in 2015-16 and he ranks second in the nation with four shutouts...SCSU is 4-2-0 in action teams ranked among the nation's top 20 teams this season...SCSU's rookies have contributed 7goals and 11 assists this season. This total includes 3 goals and 6 assists posted by the freshman during the recent series against Miami...Nate Widman leads the Huskies on the plus/minus at +9...newcomer Jimmy Schuldt paces SCSU this winter with 14 blocked shots, while fellow freshmen Jon Lizotte and Will Borgen each have 10 blocks for the Huskies this season.
