Aberdeen, S.D. – St. Cloud State won its fifth straight game behind junior guard Eddie Alcantara's (New York) double-double as the Huskies upset Northern State 92-81 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) North Division play Friday night in Aberdeen, S.D.

The Huskies improved to 16-9 overall and 12-7 in the NSIC and gained a game on the Wolves. Northern State went to 19-6 overall and 13-6 in the NSIC. The Wolves are second in the North while the Huskies are in third. St. Cloud State plays at ninth-ranked MSU Moorhead (north division leader) Saturday evening.

Alcantara posted his second double-double of the season with 14 points and ten rebounds. He also had a team high three steals.

St. Cloud State has won three straight road games and improved their road record to 6-5 on the season.

Junior guard Jordan Poydras (Los Angeles, Calif.) rattled off his 13^th straight game of double digit scoring as he pumped in 24 points, handed out six assists and had six rebounds.

The Huskies led by 13 points with 6:27 left in the second half. A 13-5 Northern State run drew the Wolves to within five points, 84-79 with 2:21 left. Tydan Storrusten scored seven of his game high 27 points in the run. With 1:08 left Storrusten made two free throws to draw to five points again, 86-81.

St. Cloud State made six straight free throws, four from Chuckie Smith (Minneapolis, Minn.) and two from Scottie Stone (Melrose, Minn.) to secure the road win.

Huskies Tip-Ins

Chuckie Smith played the four minutes and went four of four from the free throw line.
Scottie Stone finished the game with 22 points and seven rebounds. He was six of six from the free throw line.
Junior forward Donnell Cegers (Milwaukee, Wis.) scored 18 points on six of ten shooting from the field and six of eight from the free throw line.
The Huskies shot 45.9 percent from the field and made 25 of 28 free throws.

Wolves Hits

Northern State's leading scorer Seth Bachand had a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Skye Warwick added 12 points.
The Wolves shot 46.9 percent from the field and went 14 of 24 from the free throw line.
The loss was only the third home loss of the season for the Wolves.
