MSU Moorhead ends Huskies five game win streak in 94-76 men's basketball win

Moorhead, Minn. – A 94-76 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) men's basketball loss at ninth-ranked Minnesota State University Moorhead Saturday ended a five game St. Cloud State win streak.
The Huskies record went to 16-10 overall and 12-8 in the NSIC. The Dragons improved to 27-2 overall and 18-2 in the NSIC.
The Dragons Tyler Vaughan led all players with 23 points in a game where MSU Moorhead shot 56.7 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range.
Five MSU Moorhead players scored in double figures in the game including four starters.
The Huskies were led in scoring by junior guard Jordan Poydras (Los Angeles, Calif.) with 20 points. He also handed out eight assists marking the fourth game this season that he has had eight or more assists. St. Cloud State shot 37.9 percent from the field, 40.6 percent from beyond the arc and made 13 of 16 free throws.
St. Cloud State trailed 45-40 at the half. The Huskies led by 5, 16-11 six minutes into the game. Poydras scored the first five points of the second half to tie the game but were not able to gain an advantage of the Dragons the rest of the way.

Huskies Tip-Ins
- Junior forward Donnell Cegers (Milwaukee, Wis.) scored 14 points and posted 32 points on the weekend.
- Sophomore guard Scottie Stone (Melrose, Minn.) scored 12 points and made three, three-point baskets.
- Junior guard Eddie Alcantara (New York, N.Y.) posted a season and career high 12 rebounds and scored eight points.
- Senior forward Connor Niehaus (Fremont, Neb.) added 11 points that included three, three-point baskets, six rebounds and five assists.
- The Huskies return home for the final weekend of regular season play hosting Minot State on Friday and the University of Mary on Saturday. Saturday is Senior Day at Halenbeck Hall.
MSUM Hits
- Jordan Riewer dropped in 20 points and pulled in a team high eight rebounds and a game high nine assists.
- Aaron Lien scored 16 points, Isaac Sevlie 15 points and Ngijol Songolo 12 points.
