The #4/5 St. Cloud State University men's hockey team (18-5-1, 10-3-1 NCHC) will play a weekend series at home against Western Michigan University (7-12-3, 4-7-1 NCHC) on Jan. 22-23. The game on Jan 22 will begin at 7:37 p.m. and the game on Jan. 23 will begin at 7:07 p.m. Both games will be played at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center (5,159 cap./200x100) in St. Cloud, Minn.  Great tickets are availanle for both games of this important NCHC series in St. Cloud!

TOGA! TOGA!:  The game on Jan. 22 has been designated as Toga Night at the SCSU hockey game. Fans are encouraged to join in the fun that night and wear a toga to the game while cheering on their Huskies.
SCRATCH OFF NIGHT:  Capital One will be handing out scratch-off tickets to the first 1,000 fans at the game on Jan. 23. These tickets will give fans a chance to win many valuable prizes including a 50-inch smart TV, Beats headphones and a GoPro camera.Â

POLL POSITION: SCSU was ranked #5 in the USCHO.com and 4th in the USA Today/USA Hockey DI national polls this week....SCSU has been ranked among the nation's top 20 teams in every poll so far this season...WMU was not ranked in this week's polls.Â

GOALIE OF THE WEEK:  SCSU junior Charlie Lindgren was named the NCHC Goalie of the Week from his standout play at UMD on Jan. 15-16. On the weekend, Lindgren tallied 66 saves, a 0.96 GAA and .971 save rate while the Huskies went 7-of-7 on the penalty kill. He only allowed two goals in 125:00 minutes of play at UMD. After just three seasons of play, Lindgren currently ranks sixth in the team records with 38 career wins, just behind Grant Sjerven (1991-94) and Dean Weasler (1998-02) with 39 career wins. Lindgren's 1,648 saves ranks 10th in the team records.

DEFENSIVE ACE:   SCSU postseason awards candidate Ethan Prow ranks sixth in the country with 19 assists this season. He also leads all DI defenseman with 19 assists and 23 points. In his career, Prow now has 84 points (15g/69a). He moves into sixth place on the team's career scoring leader list for defensemen - and past Garrett Raboin, who had 83 points from 2006-10.
100-POINT CLUB: Joey Benik scored his 100th career point with his 13th goal of the season on Jan. 16 at UMD. Benik now has 49 goals and 51 assists at SCSU. He becomes the third SCSU player in 2015-16 to join the 100-point club and the 28th player in the team's DI history to hit the century mark.

YOUNG GUN:  Rookie Mikey Eyssimont has charted three goals and five assists in his last seven games played. On the season, Eyssimont has four goals and eights assists in 23 games played..
NOTES AND NEWS:   David Morley leads the Huskies this season with a +17 ranking on the plus/minus...The Huskies have outscored their opponents 98-47 this season. SCSU now ranks third in the nation with 98 goals and is fourth in the nation with a scoring average of 4.08 goals per game...On defense, the Huskies rank seventh in the nation with a goals against average of 1.96 per game...SCSU charted one power play goal this weekend during its time in Duluth. On the season, SCSU ranks fourth in the nation with a power play rate of 27.3 percent (24/88)...Joey Benik and Patrick Russell rank second in the NCAA with five game winning goals apiece this season. Both equal a team record for most GWGs in a season.
BRONCOS IN TOWN THIS WEEKEND:  The Huskies will resume their series with Western Michigan on Jan. 22-23 at the HBNHC. The Huskies own a 5-3-2 series lead over the Broncos. Earlier in the season, the Huskies gained a 5-2 and 11-1 sweep in Kalamazoo, Mich. on Nov. 13-14, 2015...The Huskies are 3-1-1 against WMU in the last five games of the series and 5-3-2 in the last 10-games of the series. SCSU is 2-3-1 at home against WMU and last year, the Huskies split a weekend series against WMU with a 7-0 win and a 3-2 loss on Jan. 23-24, 2015...The Huskies' 11 goals scored against WMU on Nov. 13 were the second most goals scored in a game in the SCSU recordbook. In that contest, SCSU was led by Joey Benik with four goals and one assist.
ON THE ROAD TO ST. PAUL:  The Huskies will travel to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. on Jan. 30-31 for games at the North Star Cup. On Jan. 30, the Huskies will open torunament play at 1 p.m. against Minnesota State Mankato. The second game that day will feature Minnesota against Bemidji State. The tournament wraps up on Jan. 31 with games at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. All SCSU fans are invited to a pre-game social at The Liffey beginning at 11 a.m. on Jan. 30 (and two hours before the game on Jan. 31). The Liffey is located across the street from the Xcel Energy Center (175 7th St W, St Paul, MN 55102). For more information about the gathering at The Liffey, please call the SCSU Alumni Office at (320) 308-0121Â
