The #17 St. Cloud State University men's hockey team (7-6-1, 3-4-1 NCHC) will continue its 2016-17 season on Dec. 9-10 with a two-game series against Omaha (8-5-3, 3-3-0 NCHC) at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minn. HUSKIES HEADLINES:
TEDDY BEAR TOSS: Fans should mark Dec. 10 on their calendars for the annual Teddy Bear Toss at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. SCSU will host Omaha that night and fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used Teddy Bear or stuffed animal toy to throw onto the ice during the first intermission. All Teddy Bears and stuffed animals collected during the Toss will then be donated to the local Toys for Tots campaign in St. Cloud, which helps the area's needy during the holiday season.
UGLY HOLIDAY SWEATER NIGHT: Dig those ugly holiday sweaters out of the closet and wear them to the rink on Friday, Dec. 9 for the Huskies game vs. Omaha. Get into the holiday spirit with that hideous relic from Grandma's closet and have fun with Huskies' hockey this weekend at the HBNHC.

4 FROM WMU: The Huskies brought back four points from Kalamazoo with a 3-0 win on Dec. 2 and a 5-5 OT decision at Western Michigan on Dec. 2-3. SCSU currently owns a 7-6-1, 3-4-1 NCHC record.
GOAL LEADER: Mikey Eyssimont moved into the team's point lead this weekend with a five points at WMU. He had one goal and one assist on Dec. 2 and one goal and two helpers on Dec. 3. On the season, Eyssimont has a team-leading eight goals and 14 points. In 54 games played at SCSU, Eyssimont's career numbers include 22 goals and 25 assists...Jack Ahcan added two assists on Dec. 3, which moved his team-leading assist total to 10 in 2016-17.
DOUBLE DIGITS: A total of six SCSU players have posted double-digit point totals so far in 2016-17. This group includes Eyssimont (14 points), Blake Winiecki (12 points), Jack Ahcan (12 points), Judd Peterson (11 points), Patrick Newell (11 points) and Jimmy Schuldt (10 points).
PERFECT PK: The Huskies were a perfect 8-of-8 on the penalty kill, including an impressive 5-of-5 effort on the PK on Dec. 2. On the season, SCSU's penalty kill stands at .827 (43/52).
DRISCOLL DATA: Rookie goalie Zach Driscoll posted his first collegiate shutout on Dec. 2 with a 26 save performance during the Huskies' 3-0 win at WMU. This was SCSU's first shutout since a 7-0 win over Arizona State on Jan. 2, 2016. The last time SCSU scored a shutout on the road was a 3-0 win over Alaska in Anchorage, Alaska on Oct. 9, 2015.
OMAHA NOTES: SCSU will return to its NCHC schedule on Dec. 9-10 with a pair of home games against Omaha. The Huskies own a 15-9-2 series lead against the Mavericks, which dates back to a 2-1 win by the Huskies at home on Jan. 9, 1998. SCSU is 4-1-0 in the last five outings against Omaha and 7-3-0 in the last 10 outings against Omaha...Last year, the Huskies were 3-1-0 in play against Omaha. SCSU was 1-1-0 in games against Omaha at the HBNHC. This included a 4-1 win and a 7-2 loss in St. Cloud on Dec. 4-5, 2015. The seven goals were the most goals allowed in a game by the Huskies last year...The Huskies gained a pair of wins in their first games played at Omaha's new Baxter Arena last year. The Huskies won in Omaha last year by scores of 4-1 and 6-3 on Feb. 19-20, 2016.
BRONCO BUSTING: The wins at WMU helped the Huskies maintain an eighth game unbeaten streak against the Broncos dating back to a 3-2 loss in St. Cloud on Jan. 24, 2015. SCSU is now 6-0-2 in games played at WMU during the all-time series that started with a 4-2 win by the Huskies on Dec. 29, 2011 in St. Cloud.
NORTH STAR CUP: SCSU will participate in the 2017 North Star Cup on Jan. 27-28. SCSU was the 2016 North Star Cup champion. The Huskies open tournament play in 2017 on Jan. 27 with a match against Bemidji State. Minnesota and Minnesota Duluth will play the second game on Jan. 27. The championship game and consolation game will take place on Jan. 28. All games will be played at the Xcel Energy Center in downtown St. Paul, Minn. TEAM NOTES: Mikey Eyssimont leads the Huskies with 57 shots on goal this season, while Judd Peterson ranks second with 40. SCSU has outshot its opponents 435-397 this year...SCSU has outscored its opponents 49-46 this season and they have notched 12 power play goals, while giving up nine PPGs in 2016-17...Jimmy Schuldt leads the team on the plus/minus at +7...Zach Driscoll is 6-4-1 this season for the Huskies with a 3.04 GAA and a .894 save rate. He has 245 saves in 572:11 minutes played in 2016-17. Jeff Smith has played 268:56 minutes this season with a 3.35 GAA and a .876 save rate.
ARIZONA ICE: The St. Cloud State University men's hockey team will return to action on the ice with a trip to Prescott, Ariz. for the Arizona State Desert Classic Tournament. On Dec. 30, SCSU will play Connecticut and Arizona State will play Brown. The two winning teams will face off on Dec. 31 and the two losing teams will also play on Dec. 31 in the consolation game.
