Women’s Basketball Welcomes in Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston This Weekend

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State women's basketball team (7-4, 4-3 NSIC) returns home to Halenbeck Hall to play a pair of NSIC opponents this weekend. The program takes on Bemidji State (4-7, 3-4 NSIC) on Friday, Jan. 5, at 6 p.m. and Minnesota Crookston (2-9, 2-5 NSIC) on Saturday, Jan. 6, at 4 p.m.
There will also be several promotions this weekend at the games. On Friday, it will be $1 hot dog night at the concession stand. On Saturday, the contest will be Camper Appreciation and Youth Night where all youth up to a senior in high school can get in the game for free with a paid adult. The game will also be another $1 hot dog night at the concession stand.

The Above the Rim Basketball Coaches Show with weekly guests head men's basketball coach Matt Reimer and head women's basketball coach Lori Fish is held at 7 p.m. every Monday during the basketball season at the Green Mill in downtown St. Cloud. The show will resume its regularly schedule on Jan. 8. Fans are invited to come out and listen to the show live at the Green Mill and enjoy some great menu discounts available during the show every Monday. The show is hosted by J.W. Scouting Bemidji State
- Bemidji State split the team's two games over the weekend with a 60-52 home win against Upper Iowa on Saturday, Dec. 30, and a 47-33 home loss to Winona State on Sunday, Dec. 31.
- The program has lost three of the last five games since defeating St. Cloud State on Dec. 2.
- Brooklyn Bachmann leads the team with her average of 13.8 points per game.
- She is the only player averaging in double figures for the team this season.
- Bachmann is shooting 36.3 percent from the field, 32.7 percent from three-point range and 74 percent from the free throw line.
- She is also the team's leading rebounder (5.3) and leads the team both in assists (23) and steals (15).
- Sierra Senske puts up 9.0 points per game.
- Sydney Arrington sports an average of 8.9 points per game.
- Arrington also leads the team with her seven blocks.
- The Beavers are averaging 56.8 points per game, while shooting 28.2 percent from three-point range and 73.2 percent from the free throw line.
- The program is coached by Chelsea DeVille, who is in her third year running the team.
- She went 7-20 last season with a mark of 4-18 in league play.
Scouting Minnesota Crookston
- The Golden Eagles split the team's games over the weekend with a 74-73 loss to Winona State and an 89-61 victory over Upper Iowa.
- The win over Upper Iowa snapped a three-game losing streak.
- The program's two wins on the season have come in league play over MSU Moorhead (89-65) and Upper Iowa.
- Isieoma Odor leads the team with her average of 14.4 points per game.
- Odor is shooting 50.8 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from three-point range and 76.3 percent from the free throw line.
- She also leads the team with her average of 7.2 rebounds per game and 24 blocks.
- Odor is second on the team with 13 steals.
- Micaela Noga is averaging 13.1 points per game and is an 81.6 free throw shooter.
- She leads the team with her 16 steals.
- Caitlin Michaelis sports an average of 11.6 points per game, while shooting 44.2 percent from the field, 44.4 percent from three-point range and 72.7 percent from the foul line.
- Emily Gruber gets an average of 9.3 points per game and is second on the team with her average of 6.5 rebounds per contest.
