St. Cloud State swim and dive to host UW-Eau Claire

The St. Cloud State University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will host the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in a dual meet at the Halenbeck Hall Aquatic Complex on Saturday, Nov. 17. The meet will begin at 2 p.m. and it has been designated as Senior/Parent Day for the Huskies.

SCSUÂ SWIM AND DIVE NOTEBOOK:
- The SCSUÂ women's swim and dive team received votes in the latest CSCAAÂ Division II national poll released on Nov. 15.
- The Huskies are fresh from a pair of first place finishes at the 2018 JoAnn Andreeg Invitational, which was hosted by St. Thomas on Nov. 9-10.  In an early season meeting between two of the NSIC's top programs, SCSU edged Minnesota State, Mankato in the women's team standings. SCSU charted 1,007 points, while MSU was second with 963 points. St. Thomas was third at 622, followed by St. Catherine's (425), Minnesota State Moorhead (362) and Wisconsin-Eau Claire (184). In the men's standings, SCSU placed first with 1262.67 points, while St. Thomas was second at 1056.83 and UW-Eau Claire was third at 868.50.
- In the CollegeSwimming.com poll this week, the SCSUÂ men's team was ranked 33rd and the women's team was ranked 30th.
- Britin Thomsen was named the NSIC Diver of the Week for the third time this season on Nov. 12. She won both the 1M and 3M events at the JoAnn Andreeg Invitational in St. Paul. Thomsen is ranked #1 in the nation in the latest CollegeSwimming.com charts for the 1M event with a best score of 427.95. SCSU divers Mady Brinkman (3rd), Alyssa Doherty (4th), Rebekah Stone (5th) and Annaliesa Anderson (8th) are also ranked in the CollegeSwimming.com top 10 charts in the 1M event. Thomsen ranks 19th in the CollegeSwimming.com 3M event.
- On the men's team, Scott Stellick ranks 2nd in the nation in the CollegeSwimming.com 1M rankings with a best score of 409.25. Teammate Hanos Mahari ranks 3rd in the rankings with a score 409.20. Stellick also ranks 15th in the 3M rankings at the DII level.
- SCSU women's 800 free relay team is ranked 6th in the CollegeSwimming.com charts with a time of 7:57.92. SCSU women's team is ranked 10th in the 200 free relay and 13th in the 400 relay. On the men's side, SCSU is ranked sixth in the 800 free relay.
- Jennifer Thompson ranks 15th in the CollegeSwimming.com DII rankings with a time of 24.07 in the 50 free. She ranks 17th with a time of 52.82 in the 100 free.
- The Huskies will next travel to the Rochester Invitational in Rochester, Minn. on Nov. 30-Dec. 2. This meet features many of the region's top collegiate swimming and diving programs.
