SCSU women's golf places third at Upper Iowa Invite

The St. Cloud State University women's golf team opened the spring portion of its 2017-18 schedule with a third place finish at the UIU Spring Invite.
The tournament was held on Mar. 29-30 at the Wayne Country Club in Wayne, Neb.
The Huskies two-day team score was 702 (354-348), while Central Missouri won the team crown with a score of 636 (321-315) and Concordia-St. Paul was second at 675 (340-335).
Madison Tenney led the Huskies with a ninth place score of 171 (87-84), while teammate Marren Pfannenstein added an 11th place score of 173 (86-87).
Samantha Lindeen (92-87) and Ashlee Eggebraaten (89-90) placed 15th with scores of 179 and Kendall Niehaus was 19th at 188 (93-95).(92-87). SCSU's Morgan Williams placed 10th in the tournament standings with a two-day score of 172 (89-83). Olivia Sobaski of Central Missouri was the medalist at 152 (77-75).
Of note, the tournament consisted of nine holes played on March 29 and 27 holes played on March 30 due to weather conditions.
SCSU will continue its season on April 6-7 with a trip to the Iowa Western Open.
