Huskies fall to Golden Bears 107-91

ST. PAUL, MINN. – The St. Cloud State University men's basketball team dropped its Friday evening game to Concordia University-St. Paul 107-91 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Brindley Theisen (St. Cloud, Minn. / St. Cloud Cathedral) led the team with 27 points while Gage Davis (Bolingbrook, Ill. / Bolingbrook) led with seven boards and a career-high five steals.
The Huskies trailed the Golden Bears 51-49 at the half despite red hot shooting from three-point range. Through the first ten minutes, St. Cloud State was 8-11 from beyond the arc, while senior guard Theisen shot a blistering 5-5 from three-point range. Concordia-St. Paul was also hot from beyond the arc, as the team shot a season-high .714 to hang with the Huskies and eventually take a 51-49 lead with .01 remaining in the first half.
In addition to Theisen, Sean Smith (Seville, Spain / Canarias Basketball Academy) also scored 20+ points, tallying 21 points to go along with two blocks and three steals. Davis finished the game with 19 points, just missing his sixth straight 20+ point performance against Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) opponents.
With the loss, St. Cloud State's overall record is now 12-5 and the team is 7-4 in NSIC play. The Huskies will return to action on Saturday, January 19 when they take on Minnesota State at 5:30 p.m. in Mankato, Minnesota.
