SCSU Swim and Dive in action at Northfield Colleges meet on Oct. 26

The St. Cloud State University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will travel to Northfield, Minn. for the Cows, Colleges and Contentment Classic meet on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 11 a.m.
The swimming portion of the meet will be hosted by Carleton College and St. Olaf College at pool locations in Northfield, Minn. that day.

SCSU SWIM AND DIVE HEADLINES:
- SCSU's Madison Brinkman was named the NSIC Diver of the Week on Oct. 22. She gained the honor thanks to her efforts for the Huskies at the MSUM Penta Duals on Oct. 18-19 at the pool in West Fargo, N.D. This marked the first time in her career that Brinkman was named an NSIC Diver of the Week.
- In action at the MSUM meet, SCSU's women's team posted a 5-3 record that included a win over DI rival South Dakota along with wins over NSIC foes MSUM and Northern State. The men's team did not pick up a team win but they turned in strong showings against DI opponent USD and top five ranked Northern Michigan.
- In the latest collegeswimming.com men's NCAA DII national poll, SCSU's men's team received a #15 ranking and the women's team received a #12 ranking in their dual meet poll. In the preseason CSCAA DII women's poll, SCSU ranked #20. In the NSIC preseason poll, SCSU was selected number one. Last year, the SCSU women's team won the 2019 NSIC championship.
- In the collegeswimming.com top times charts, SCSU's Chelsea Gerhke ranks 10th among DII swimmers in the 100 free at 52.55 and 10th in the 200 free at 1:54.43. SCSU's Andrea Rodriguez-Arzola posted a 10th ranked time of 18:12.03 in the 1650 free. In the relays, SCSU's women's 200 free relay ranked 12th among DII teams and the 400 free relay ranked seventh, while the 200 medley relay ranked 11th and the 400 medley relay ranked 13th. In the top 3M dive performances in DII action this season, SCSU has four of the top 10 scores with Brinkman at fourth place (248.55), Meredith Matchinsky in 6th place at 234.25, Alyssa Doherty in 8th place at 228.15 and Rebekah Stone in ninth place at 227.10.
- In men's competition so far this season, SCSU's Evan Infante ranks ninth among the top DII performers this season in both the 1M and 3M diving events. SCSU's men's 400 medley relay ranks 13th among the top times in DII this year, while the 400 free relay ranks 10th and the 200 free relay ranks 17th. In the 50 breaststroke, SCSU's Jayden Porter ranks 6th among DII athletes with a time of 27.05. In the 1650 free, SCSU's David Clossey ranks 10th in the nation with a time of 16:55.17.
- The Huskies will return to action on Nov. 1-2 with a trip to the University of South Dakota Invite, which will take place in Sioux Falls, S.D.
