St. Cloud State Hosts Minnesota-Duluth in last game of 2019
12/19/2019 2:09:00 PM | Women's Basketball
ST. CLOUD, MINN. – The St. Cloud State University women's basketball will be defending their home court against the University of Minnesota Duluth. Sat., December 21 2019, the Huskies will face-off with the Bulldogs in Halenbeck Hall at 2 p.m. St. Cloud is in the midst of a three-game winning streak.
The 6-3 (3-2 NSIC) Huskies match up well with the 8-3 (5-0 NSIC) Bulldogs. This is the second meeting of the season between the two teams. Minnesota-Duluth took game one with a 71-59 victory. SCSU will be looking for a different result on their own home floor. If the Huskies can win this matchup and earn a split with the undefeated Bulldogs can end up going a long way for St. Cloud State later on in the season. This will also be the last game of 2019 for the women's basketball team.

Live stats and video will be available during the game, and fans can also listen to play-by-play on Granite City Sports. Be sure to follow the team's official Twitter page (@SCSUHUSKIES_WBB) for up to date highlights and score alerts.
HERE ARE FIVE THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE TIP-OFF:
59.6 – The Huskies stout defense is still top three in the NSIC. St. Cloud State is holding opponents to just 59.6 points per game. This comes as a surprise to nobody as defense has always been one of the Huskies strong suits.
44.1 – Minnesota-Duluth comes into this matchup shooting 44.1 percent as a team. Through 11 games, the Bulldogs have shot 271-for-675. One of the keys to taking down UMD will be putting pressure on them and forcing them to shoot shots they are not comfortable taking.
38.4 – St. Cloud State comes in averaging 38.4 rebounds per contest which ranks top five amongst the NSIC. The Huskies have controlled the glass in all but a few games this season. Pay close attention to the rebounding numbers because that leads to second chance points.
UMD TOP SCORERS – Brooke Olsen is the leading scorer for the Bulldogs, she is averaging 16.2 points per game. Maesyn Thiesen and Sarah Grow are also averaging nine points per contest.
