Huskies Embark on Final Regular Season Road Trip

The St. Cloud State women's basketball team will hit the road to close out their last regular season away contests of the season, challenging the NSIC North leading MSU-Moorhead Dragons at 5:30 on Friday, Feb. 15 and the Northern State Wolves on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 3:30 PM.

ROAD WARRIORSÂ
After picking up their sixth weekend sweep of the season, the Huskies look to improve on their 5-5 away record leading into key NSIC match-up's against Minnesota State Moorhead and Northern State. MSU-Moorhead currently sits atop of the NSIC North standings with a 15-3 mark in conference, while Northern State is sixth with a 6-12 NSIC record. Two wins this weekend would mark the first time since the 2014-15 season when SCSU finished above .500 in road contests.Â

1 Nikki Kilboten leads the NSIC in total blocks with 52 (2.3 p/g - 2nd in NSIC)Â

2 Mallie Doucette is 5 three pointer's shy of cracking the top ten in program history for career three-point field goals made.Â
42.9 Madelin Dammann ranks second all-time in SCSU history for 3-point FG percentage.Â
70 Tori Wortz ranks 24th in program history in three-pointers made with just 47 games played.Â
SCOUTING MSU-MOORHEADÂ
The Dragons' offense has been led by Kiley Borowicz, Megan Hintz and Jacky Volkert, who rank among the top ten in scoring and rebounding in the NSIC. Borowicz and Hintz are each averaging over 14 points per game while Volkert is putting up nearly 13 points per game along with over ten rebounds as well. Hintz has posted four consecutive double-double's leading into the weekend, while having recorded 11 on the season. Of note, Hintz has charted 15 or more points in six of her last eight games as well. Volkert ranks first in the NSIC for assists per game with 4.4, while also having recorded a league high of 110 entering the weekend. As a team, MSUM is the second ranked scoring defense in the NSIC, only allowing 58.2 points per game.Â
SCOUTING NORTHERN STATEÂ
Brianna Kusler is averaging over 11 points and 10 rebounds per game while Lexi Wadsworth is the shooting 43.5 percent from beyond the arc. Kusler leads the NSIC in minutes per game with 35.1, while also having brought in the fourth most rebounds (223). As a team, the Wolves rank 15th in the NSIC for scoring with a 38.9 field goal percentage.Â
