The St. Cloud State University athletics program charted another year of success in 2018-2019, with the Huskies winning their fourth NCAA Division II national wrestling championship along with NCAA tournament appearances in numerous sports and three conference team championships during the year.
The SCSU athletic programs finished the year 67th out of the over 268 Division II athletic programs in the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Division II standings. The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup is a ranking of intercollegiate athletic departments based on their participation in NCAA Championship events.
In the NSIC All-Sports Trophy race, the Huskies placed seventh out of 16 teams in the conference. The NSIC All Sports Award is calculated by awarding the winner of each conference-sponsored championship points totaling the number of teams in that sport plus one. The next place finisher receives points totaling the number of teams less the number of places from first place. Ties in the standings at any level result in the totaling of points and equal distribution. SCSU was the 2018-19 NSIC champion in wrestling and women's swimming and diving.
Â
The Huskies ranked second in the 2018-19 NSIC SAAC Cup standings. The NSIC SAAC Cup is traveling trophy awarded annually at the NSIC SAAC Summit. Institutions receive points throughout the year based on the criteria within the categories below. The winner will be the institutional SAAC with the most points accumulated by the end of the academic year (September 1-May 1). The points must be achieved in each category to be eligible to win the NSIC SAAC Cup.

In the 2018-19 NCAA Division II Team Works Helper Helper Community Service Competition, the Huskies ranked 10th for their community outreach efforts among all NCAA DII programs. The SCSU men's and women's swim and dive teams and the wrestling team were number one in the competition for all NCAA DII teams in those respective sports.  Additionally, the Huskies' baseball (No. 3), football (No. 6), softball (No. 4) and women's track and field (No. 6) teams all-ranked in the top-10 in Division II in their respective sports.Â
