Huskies Concede Thrice in Second Half, Fall 3-0

SCSU drops first conference game of season
St. Cloud, Minn. – St. Cloud State Men's Soccer (3-3-1, 1-1-0 GLIAC) fell 3-0 to Saginaw Valley State Sunday morning and dropped their first conference match of the season. The Cardinals scored three times in the second half to come away with the victory.
The first half was tightly contested with both defenses holding strong. Ramy Atia came away with three saves in the half to keep a 0 on the scoreboard for the Cardinals. Offensively, the Huskies tallied three shots with one coming on goal.
Moving into the second half, the SVSU struck first four minutes into the half with a goal by Narcis Gavalda. The Cardinals continued to apply pressure as Liam Zimmerman scored in the 70th and 75th minute to put them up 3-0. St. Cloud State was held to only four shots in the game with two landing on goal in what would ultimately be a 3-0 defeat.
