Last Time Out
The Huskies hosted an exhilarating contest against Roosevelt last Wednesday, October 14th, handing the Lakers just their second loss of the season. SCSU then headed to the Upper Peninsula to take on Northern Michigan where they fell 4-0 on Friday, October 16th.
Roosevelt Recap (10/14/26)
The Huskies set the tone early, getting out to a 1-0 lead after King Dwumah Acheampong scored his third goal in his last four games in the 15th minute off a beautiful cross from Santi Martin at midfield. Huskies held the lead till the 40th minute when Roosevelt scored off a deflection to make it 1-1. The two teams would head to the locker room tied.
The Huskies battled hard to win this game, with the Huskies committing 10 fouls in the 2nd half. In the 66th minute, Jovan Koceski forced a huge turnover and found Andrés García who had just the keeper to beat but couldn't get past his body, and the game remained tied at 1.
Turning Point
In the 85th minute, Kingsley Kanu sent a cross from midfield to Jovan Koceski. Koceski, with one defender in front and two chasing, dribbled to his right, found an opening and fired the shot with his right foot into the back of the netting to give the Huskies the lead. The Koceski goal would become the game winner, and the Huskies would go on to win an enormous game over the Lakers, earning three crucial points, and now pull ahead of Davenport in the GLIAC standings, putting themselves in solo sixth.
Northern Michigan Recap (10/16/26)

Playoff Push
Both Purdue Northwest and UW-Parkside rank five points ahead of St. Cloud State. There is a scenario where if St. Cloud State wins out and both PNW and UW-Parkside lose their final game of the season; the Huskies would climb into the solo fourth spot and host their first round GLIAC Tournament match-up. If the Huskies win out and PNW and UW-Parkside tie their final games, they would all be in a tie for fourth place. If the Huskies were to lose to both teams, they would have to rely on Davenport to lose both of their contests as well. The Panthers and Huskies are currently tied for sixth at eight points each.
