Huskies pick up 10th win, eighth sweep of the season
ABERDEEN, S.D. – No. 15 St. Cloud State Volleyball (10-3, 5-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) swept No. 18 Northern State (9-4, 1-4 NSIC) on Saturday afternoon at Wachs Arena in Aberdeen South Dakota to remain perfect in conference play. The Huskies beat NSU in straight sets (25-19, 25-10, 25-23) for its eighth sweep of the season and second in a row.
TOP HUSKIES
"I thought we had a very solid performance, both offensively and defensively today. Our serving was improved from last night, and I thought we got some fantastic touches from our blockers. Both of our outsides were very solid scoring points, and Shelby was fantastic offensively. Braya continues to set a very balanced offense as well. I really liked how we were able to close out each set. To go on the road and win two matches against some quality teams, both in straight sets, is very difficult to do in this league. The coaching staff is extremely proud of the work our young women have put in so far this season."
NOTABLES
The Huskies return home next weekend for a pair of NSIC matches. SCSU welcomes Southwest Minnesota State to St. Cloud on Friday (6 p.m. first serve) and Sioux Falls on Saturday (2 p.m. first serve). Links to each coverage option can be found on the St. Cloud State Volleyball schedule page.
