SCSU's Doose leads pack after first day at SJU Fall Invitational

St. Cloud State University rookie Carter Doose (St. Peter, Minn./St. Peter H.S.) finished the first day of competition at the 2019 Saint John's Fall Invitational on top of the leaderboard on Saturday, Sept. 21. Â
In action at the Greystone Golf Course in Sauk Centre, Minn., Doose led the field of 116 golfers with a score of 71 (one under par). The tournament will finish with a second day of golf being played at Blackberry Ridge G.C. in nearby Sartell, Minn. The final round is slated to begin at 10:30 a.m.
As a team, SCSU ranked 15th in the 22 team tournament with a score of 324. Gustavus Adolphus and host Saint John's led the field with first place team scores of 297.
In addition to Doose's top score, SCSU's Hunter Moen posted a first round score of 78 (38th place) and Quinn Massey scored an 81 (64th place). Spencer Hinrichs placed 98th in the field with a score of 86 and Aiden Brovold was 104th with a score of 89.
