
Thirteen Huskies earn NSIC Myles Brand Award

BURNSVILLE, MINN. - The St. Cloud State University athletics department is well known for its success, not only in competition, but in the classroom as well. Thirteen Huskies were recognized for their academic success, as they earned the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award, conference commissioner Erin Lind announced Wednesday.Â
The year 2021 marks the 12th year since the awards inception, which is bestowed upon senior NSIC student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.75 or higher. Additionally, these student-athletes must be exhausting their NCAA eligibility and on track to graduate in the spring of 2021.Â
In total, a record 227 NSIC student-athletes earned the prestigious honor, 33 more than the previous year's record of 194. Of those 227, 13 were student-athletes from St. Cloud State representing eight of the university's 15 Division II teams.Â
