SCSU shut out by No. 6 UMD in road finale

St. Cloud State women's hockey (3-11-1, 3-11-1 WCHA) was shut out 6-0 on the road by No. 6 Minnesota-Duluth (8-4-0, 8-4-0 WCHA) on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies were outshot 41-24 and lost the faceoff battle 34-16.
Forwards Jenniina Nylund and Klara Hymlarova each put a team-high five shots on goal in the loss, while Hymlarova added three blocks. Freshmen Mackenzie Bourgerie and Emma Gentry put two shots on goal a piece.
Freshman tender Sanni Ahola piled up 35 saves on the day.
Following a tightly-played scoreless first period, Minnesota-Duluth scored two goals in the second and four in the third.
The Huskies return home next weekend for a series with Minnesota State. Friday's puck drop will be at 2:07 p.m. CST, with a 1:07 p.m. CST start on Saturday. SCSU will celebrate their five seniors following Saturday's Senior Day contest.
