ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Hockey travels to Troy, New York this week for a nonconference series at RPI over Thanksgiving break. The Huskies and Engineers will play at 2:00 p.m. CST both Friday and Saturday, November 26-27 at Houston Field House.
Coverage of the series can be streamed on ESPN+, with the links available on the SCSU Women's Hockey schedule page. St. Cloud State is 2-3-0 all-time against RPI. The Huskies earned a road sweep in Troy over November 7-8, 2014 the last time the two programs met with Katie Fitzgerald recording a 3-0 shutout in the finale while Molly Illikainen provided a four-point weekend with a pair of goals and two assists.
The Huskies were swept by No. 3 Minnesota in a home-and-home series last weekend. Outscored 11-3 by the Gophers, SCSU went just 1-of-9 on the power play. Taylor Lind has recorded a fantastic junior campaign thus far with a 2-10-12 line as the Huskies' point leader while sophomore Emma Gentry has already matched her scoring total from her debut season with six goals in 2021-22. Mackenzie Bourgerie has added a 4-4-8 sophomore season with a point in five of her last seven. Senior center Jenniina Nylund has skated to a plus-one on the year with three goals and four assists. Defenders Taytum Geier (-1, 0-4-4, 15 BLK) and Dayle Ross (-3, 0-1-1, 24 BLK) anchor the Huskies' blue line. WCHA All-Rookie selection Sanni Ahola has drawn the majority share of SCSU's goaltending duties as of late, working to a 3-5-0 record with a .879 save percentage.
RPI is 5-10-0 on the season, fresh off a 4-1 win over Post University that snapped a six-game losing skid. Defense has been a key piece of the Engineers' formula for success with a 96.1% penalty kill and a dominant campaign produced by goaltender Amanda Rampado. The RPI netminder is 4-10-0 on the year with a .934 save percentage and a 2.23 goals against average. Marah Wagner stands as the point leader with a 5-6-11 line while sharing the high mark in goals with Audrey McCutcheon (5-3-8).
The Huskies will return to WCHA play next weekend with a home series against Bemidji State on December 3-4.
