SCSU Women’s Hockey collides with Bemidji State for road WCHA set

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Hockey returns to action this weekend after a two-week hiatus with a road series at Bemidji State. The Huskies and Beavers will open the series Friday at 3:00 p.m. with a 2:00 p.m. CT start on Saturday at the Sanford Center.

SCSU posted a runner-up finish at the Battle at the Burgh, upending RV Penn State 4-3 in overtime then falling to Syracuse 5-2. Taylor Lind leads the Huskies in points with a 6-12-18 line, while Emma Gentry is the goal leader with 12 to go with five apples for 17 points. Gentry earned All-Tournament Team honors in Pittsburgh with a three-goal, two-assist showing. Jenniina Nylund has seven goals and eight assists for 15 points and has skated to a team-high plus-eight. Mackenzie Bourgerie (4-5-9) owns a career-high nine points, finding a home as a playmaking center. On the blue line, Dayle Ross leads SCSU with 37 blocks while McKenna Wesloh (1-5-6) leads all Huskies defenders in points. Sanni Ahola posted a .926 save percentage in her last conference series at Minnesota State and leads the goaltending room with four wins. Emma Polusny (3.13 GAA, .909 SV%) is just 51 saves away from tying the program career record held by Laura Gieselman.
Bemdiji State stands 7-12-3 on the year, 2-12-2 in WCHA play. Both Graysen Myers and Reece Hunt have five goals and nine assists for a team-leading 14 points. Paige Beebe is the goal leader with six while Claire Vekich and Lydia Passolt each have scored five times. Standout tender Hannah Hogenson owns a .918 save percentage with a 3.03 goals against average to go 6-8-0 on the season. The Beavers are 1-4-1 over their last six since sweeping SCSU at the HBNHC in December, having been swept at the hands of No. 1 Wisconsin and No. 7/9 Minnesota-Duluth while splitting with Minnesota State.
St. Cloud State returns home next weekend by welcoming Wisconsin to the HBNHC on January 28-29.
