St. Cloud State continues homestand with No. 5 Minnesota-Duluth

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Hockey will welcome No. 5 Minnesota-Duluth to the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center on Tuesday, February 1 for the first of two midweek home games against the Bulldogs. Puck drop is set for 3:00 p.m. CT.

SCSU is fresh off a strong weekend at home against then-No. 2/3 Wisconsin, taking a point from the Badgers on Friday and holding them to just five goals in the series – tying the second-lowest scoring series UW has had all season. Emma Polusny earned WCHA Goaltender of the Week honors. Taylor Lind leads the Huskies in points with a 6-13-19 line, while Emma Gentry is the goal leader with 12 to go with five apples for 17 points. Courtney Hall has been red-hot as of late, scoring two goals and three assists in six games for a five-point January. Mackenzie Bourgerie (4-5-9) owns a career-high nine points, finding a home as a playmaking center. On the blue line, Dayle Ross leads SCSU with 39 blocks while McKenna Wesloh (1-5-6) leads all Huskies defenders in points. Sanni Ahola has earned four wins as the other half of SCSU's goaltending duo and made 37 saves against Wisconsin in her last start.
Minnesota-Duluth closed out the first half by splitting with both Ohio State and Minnesota, then opened the new year with a road sweep of No. 10 Harvard. The top line of Gabbie Hughes (15-31-46), Elizabeth Giguere (14-26-40) and Anna Klein (17-20-37) have each eclipsed the 30-point mark this season while skating to a combined plus-86. Naomi Rogge (11-9-20), Clara Van Wieren (6-12-18), Mannon McMahon (2-10-12) and Anneke Linser (3-8-11) give UMD seven players with double-digit points, while Maggie Flaherty has anchored the D-corps by skating to a plus-26 with 43 blocks. Sophomore tender Jojo Chobak has taken over the net in the absence of Olympian Emma Soderberg, going 3-1-0 in four starts with a .935 save percentage and a 1.76 goals against average.
St. Cloud State will close out the weekend with a home-and-home against St. Thomas, hosting the Tommies for Senior Night on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. CT.
