QUOTABLES
St. Cloud State Women's Hockey Head Coach Steve Macdonald
"Any time you get down early against a team as good as Ohio State, it's hard to come back. They're a top team in the country, and we need to have better starts so we're not playing from behind so early. From there, we just weren't able to dig ourselves out of that, and ultimately it ended in that result."
On Emma Polusny's 54-stop night…"She's doing what she could back there with that many shots. She competed well – that's way too many shots to be giving up. We need to be better defensively, specifically with our breakouts. We need to spend less time in our zone. We just weren't able to break the puck out effectively early on, and that just led to a long night for us in the D-zone."
On the message to the team going into an elimination game… "We have to have a short memory. You have to forget about this game. Obviously you learn from everything, but we have to park it. We have to have a short memory – tomorrow's it. You have to lay it all out on the line, we have to have everybody willing to compete and everyone willing to commit to the details. We have to have a short memory and refocus for tomorrow."
