Chobak notches 26 saves in shutout, Ross and Wolfe each score
MANKATO, Minn. – No. 10/11 St. Cloud State (9-2-0, 3-1-0 WCHA) earned a sweep of (RV) Minnesota State (2-6-0, 0-6-0 WCHA) with a 2-0 victory on Saturday afternoon in Mankato. Senior goaltender Jojo Chobak (Chicago, Ill.) continued SCSU's excellent goaltending play this season, making 26 saves while recording her second consecutive shutout and SCSU's sixth of the season in 11 games.
Junior defender Dayle Ross (Spirit River, Alberta) would open the scoring late in the first period to put the Huskies up 1-0. The middle frame saw no goals as St. Cloud State's penalty kill would kill off the one Minnesota State power play. Junior defender Grace Wolfe (Owatonna, Minn.) would score her third goal of the season just :34 into the final period, giving the Huskies a comfortable two-goal lead. Wolfe was strong in all areas, blocking a team-leading six shots, while scoring once in each game, and skating to a +3 mark for the series.
