LET'S GO POLLING
St. Cloud State enters week six ranked No. 11 in both the USCHO and USA Today National Polls. St. Cloud State is one of five WCHA programs featured in week six's rankings. The Huskies entered both the USCHO and USA Today National Polls in the first week of December last season, placing the team in the national rankings for the first time since 2009 and 2008 respectively. After debuting at No. 14 in both polls, SCSU remained ranked in 10 of the next 11 weeks to close the year, closing the season ranked for the first time in program history at No. 12 by the USCHO and No. 13 by USA Today. Before the 2022–23 season, SCSU was only in the USA Today rankings five times while appearing in just six USCHO polls – last season, the Huskies were ranked 12 and 11 times respectively.
LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, the Huskies faced off against (RV) Minnesota State in a two-game series on the road. Senior goaltender Sanni Ahola would only allow one goal in game one early in the first period, stopping 14 of 15 shots faced. In game number two, senior goaltender Jojo Chobak would get the start in net and stopped all 26 shots faced for her second shutout of the season. Grace Wolfe would find the back of the net for the second time in just as many games and Dayle Ross would score her first of the series, leaving the final score at 2-0, completing the series sweep.
