
Full Team Effort Shuts Down (RV) St. Thomas in Huskies Win

Myers scores for the Huskies, Ahola notches fifth shutout
MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MINN. – No. 10 St. Cloud State (10-4-0, 5-3-0 WCHA) shut out (RV) St. Thomas in game one of the home-and-home series, winning 1-0 on the road on Friday evening. Avery Myers scored her first goal of the season and lone goal of the game just over the halfway mark in the first period.
OUTSHOOTING THE OPPONENT
The Huskies put up 39 combined shots on net, outshooting St. Thomas three to one. Klára Hymlárová led the team in the shots and shots on goal categories with 10 and 6, respectively. Five other Huskies tallied at least six shots taken in the game. The last time the Huskies put 38 or more shots on goal was last season on December 3, 2022 also against the University of St. Thomas.
SANNI TIME
For the fifth time this season, Sanni Ahola has recorded a shutout, stopping all 12 shots faced in the victory over St. Thomas. The third period of play saw a flurry of chances for the Tommies, posting four shots on goal late in the period.
FACEOFF SUCCESS
Emma Gentry was once again successful in the faceoff circle, going 7-for-9 for 78 percent. Gentry now sits just over 46 percent in the faceoff circle in four seasons with St. Cloud. Addi Scribner was also successful in the dot as she went 5-for-5, putting her at 46 percent on the season.
