Top-10 Matchup at the Ohio State University Ice Rink
No. 10 St. Cloud State (11-4-0, 6-3-0 WCHA) is set to head on the road for a conference match up against No. 1 the Ohio State Buckeyes (13-1-0, 10-0-0 WCHA). The two-game series will take place on Friday and Saturday, with puck drop set for 5:00 p.m. CT and 2:00 p.m. CT, respectively. Both games will be played at the Ohio State University Ice Rink.
SERIES HISTORY
St. Cloud State and Ohio State are long time Western Collegiate Hockey Association competitors. Their first match up took place in October of 1999 when the Huskies beat the Buckeyes 3-2. Since then, the teams have played each other 99 times as the Huskies have gone 31-58-11 overall and are 14-26-8 on the road. The last time the Huskies and the Buckeyes saw each other was in January of 2023 at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center as Ohio State picked up the victory by a score of 3-2 in overtime.
TENDING TANDEM
Sanni Ahola and Jojo Chobak have been incredible for the Huskies as one of the top goaltending tandems in the country. Both Chobak and Ahola posted shutouts against St. Thomas helping the team pick up the weekend sweep. Ahola stopped all 12 shots faced on Friday as the team took down St. Thomas 1-0 for her fifth shutout of the season. On Saturday, Chobak would get the nod in net, stopping 16 of 16 shots faced, picking up her third shutout of the year.
