
Matchinsky and Reschko Win Titles at NSIC Championships

Matchinsky wins 1-meter dive, Reschko takes home 100-yard butterfly title
WEST FARGO, N.D. – St. Cloud State Women's Swim & Dive crowned its first two champions of the 2023 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday in West Fargo, N.D. Senior Meredith Matchinsky (St. Cloud, Minn.) won the 1-meter dive, while sophomore Anna Reschko (Franfurt, Germany) won the 100-yard butterfly. The duo were part of three all-conference performers on the day for the Huskies, who were joined by sophomore Meredith Bangs (Muskego, Wis.) third-place finish in the 400-yard IM.

After the second day of competition, the Huskies sit in third place with 400 points, only trailing Augustana and Minnesota State, who currently have 490 and 459 points, respectively.

TOP HUSKIES
- Winning her first conference title, Matchinsky continued the long-storied diving tradition at SCSU, as she won the sixth consecutive NSIC 1-Meter dive championship for the Huskies with a score of 439.75 points. She follows Britin Thomsen (2018, 2019) and Mady Brinkman (2020, 2021, 2022) as conference champions.
- Reschko won her first conference championship in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing at 56.47. She is the first Husky conference champion in the event since Meghan Carmichael won the title in 2014 at 56.78.
- For the second night in a row, Bangs posted an all-conference performance with her third-place finish in the 400-yard IM at 4:31.25. Finishing just behind Bangs was freshman Claire Salzer (Oshkosh, Wis.), who finished fourth at 4:32.87.
