SCSU Swim & Dive Finishes Second at NSIC Championships

Woelfel earns bronze in 1-meter dive, Huskies earn best finish since 2022
WEST FARGO, N.D. – The St. Cloud State Women's Swim & Dive team had one all-conference performances and 10 top-eight finishes on the fourth and final day of competition at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Championships in West Fargo, N.D. In the team standings, SCSU finishes in second with 780.5 points, trailing only Minnesota State with 1,166.5 points. The runner-up finish is SCSU's best since a second-place finish in 2022.
Sophomore Lauren Woelfel (Becker, Minn.) earned her second all-conference finish of the meet with a third-place finish in the 1-meter dive with a score of 404.90. The Huskies finished third, fourth and fifth in the event, with sophomore Abriella Werner (Soldotna, Alaska) and senior Karlie Woodall (Tomahawk, Wis.) earning 397.20 and 395.45 points, respectively.
In individual swimming events, the Huskies had two top-eight finishers in each of the 100-yard IM, 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard breaststroke. Finally, the 400-yard freestyle relay team of sophomore Emma Hoppman (Red Wing, Minn.), sophomore Brooklyn Ferguson (Milford, Iowa), senior Ella Sieber (Green Bay, Wis.) and senior Natalie Gneiser (Baraboo, Wis.) finished fourth at 3:32.91.
