Huskies extend winning streak to six matches, record fourth straight set win in a row
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – No. 8 St. Cloud State Volleyball (10-2, 4-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) took down No. 15 Minnesota Duluth in straight sets (25-9, 25-21, 27-25) on Tuesday night at Halenbeck Hall in St. Cloud. The Huskies have now swept their last four matches and won their last six in a row.
The Bulldogs (8-3, 1-2 NSIC) were limited to just six kills and nine points in the first set and ended the night hitting .163. UMD also struggled in serve-receive, making nine errors in 61 attempts (.871 reception percentage), meanwhile the Huskies made just two errors in 50 attempts (.962 reception percentage). St. Cloud State sent down at least 14 kills in each set and hit .280 on the evening. The Huskies also picked up nine points from aces at the service line.

TOP HUSKIES
"We got out to a really fast start tonight, and I thought we did a great job from the service line in the first set, really putting a lot of pressure on the Bulldogs, getting them out of system often. The second and third sets obviously were much more evenly matched, and both defenses tightened up. I was impressed with the way our women responded in the middle of the second set after being down by quite a bit, and especially when we closed out the third set by making a couple plays and forcing Duluth into some errors.
We have to continue to be more balanced, offensively, and continue to serve tough especially in tight sets, but I was really proud of the offensive output of Kenzie [Foley] today. I was also really proud of Emma, [Berran] both setting wise, and her ability to score points during tight sets was very impressive. Keely [Kurschner], Shelby [Kimm], and Kenzie [Foley] were solid again serving for us which really helped anchor us."
NOTABLES
